WorkFusion Expands Financial Crime Compliance Offering Through Managed Services and the UiPath Partner Ecosystem

Financial institutions now have more ways to put AI Agents to work for financial crime compliance (FCC) leveraging managed services delivered by partners across the UiPath ecosystem, including Capgemini, Deloitte, Mphasis, and Protiviti.

WorkFusion, a UiPath company, is expanding its managed services ecosystem for FCC, enabling partners to combine their expertise and service delivery capabilities with WorkFusion’s proven AI Agents. The result gives financial institutions greater choice in how they adopt, operate and scale agentic AI across areas such as transaction monitoring investigations, KYC, sanctions screening alert review and enhanced due diligence.

Institutions can operate WorkFusion / UiPath technology themselves, engage a partner for implementation and operational support, combine partner expertise with AI Agents, or consume specific financial crime capabilities as a managed service.   The material benefits from WorkFusion can be realized in any of these commercial and delivery models.

“In financial crime compliance, the pace of technology innovation means that the operating model that made sense yesterday may not make sense tomorrow.  An ecosystem of specialized providers gives financial institutions alternatives for expertise, capacity and geographic coverage while maintaining a trusted technology foundation,” said Adam Famularo, CEO of WorkFusion, a UiPath company. “That provides something increasingly valuable in a rapidly changing financial crime environment: the ability to evolve.”

More Ways to Put Agentic AI to Work

There is no single operating model that works for every financial institution. A large global FI may want different options for how to deploy AI agents. Another may need outside expertise to support implementation or augment its internal team. Still another may want a partner to deliver a financial crime capability as a managed service or even deliver outcomes as a service.

Through the UiPath ecosystem, financial institutions can choose the approach that fits their business:

  • Operate the technology themselves.
  • Engage a partner for implementation and specialized operational support.
  • Combine partner expertise with WorkFusion AI Agents.
  • Consume specific financial crime capabilities as a managed service.

The underlying technology can remain consistent even as the operating model changes.

Rather than tying technology, implementation and operations to a single provider, financial institutions can choose partners based on specialization, geography, capacity, existing relationships and business requirements. As those requirements evolve, the delivery model can evolve with them.

Harsh Shah, Managing Director, Regulatory, Risk & Forensic, Deloitte Transactions and Business Analytics LLP, said, “When organizations move toward using agentic AI as a configurable execution and control layer in AML, and not simply as an automation tool, the combination can help financial crime programs become more adaptive and insight-driven while preserving the human accountability that effective risk management requires.

When we help clients in leveraging UiPath’s capabilities for their financial crime programs, Deloitte’s global experience, technology, and process/data insights are effectively embedded directly into transforming client’s business operations, and delivery can be bundled, co-sourced, or fully outsourced.

Our Financial Crime practice is working with clients to identify where agentic AI can practically deliver measurable value today. Our current view is that the opportunity is not a single end-to-end solution, but a flexible layer of specialized agents across transaction monitoring, investigations and Know Your Customer such as those offered by Workfusion/UiPath. A clear trend is that companies are reimagining and redefining how the value of investigator time can be maximized. AI Agents and other robotics processes can handle high-volume, repeatable work and cognitive tasks, allowing investigators to focus on review, validation and decision-making activities. Their role becomes increasingly focused on quality control, risk-specific challenge and judgment: interrogating completed cases, reviewing unusual outcomes, and confirming that decisions are appropriate.”

Managed Services Powered by Agentic AI

The role of the partner at UiPath is evolving as well.

Partners aren’t limited to implementing technology. They can embed WorkFusion capabilities directly into the services they provide to banks and other financial institutions.

That opens the door to managed-service offerings across transaction monitoring, KYC, screening, enhanced due diligence and other financial crime operations, reducing the need for customer operations and technology resources, and shortening the time to value.

For customers, the conversation becomes less about purchasing another piece of technology and more about achieving a specific operational outcome.

“The future of financial crime operations will be defined by the ability to turn intelligence into action at scale,” said Alexey Vitashkevich, SVP, Strategic AI, Mphasis. “Through our partnership with WorkFusion, Mphasis FCX brings together AI-powered execution, deep financial crime expertise, and a governance-led operating model that helps institutions achieve measurable outcomes faster. Rather than automating tasks in isolation, we help clients build a scalable foundation for improved decision quality, greater operational capacity, stronger compliance controls, and continuous performance improvement. The result is a practical path from a single use case to a modern financial crime operating model designed for long-term enterprise impact”

Rakinder Sembhi, Managing Director, FCC/Financial Services, Protiviti, said, “I have worked with the WorkFusion product for many years and in those years have seen results that have pleased clients. The existing automations/agents built on the platform also provide a jump-start in getting to market and make it a short-path to a high-confidence solution.”

He continued, “Additionally, Agentic AI is the next step in the evolution of automation.  Sophistication of automation solutions in workflow, straight-through-processing etc. has been improving for years.  Agents are the next stage in the evolution, able to dependably take on more tasks – tasks that five years ago would have required a human step be dropped into the workflow. Technology enables operations, not the other way around.  Understanding operations and nuances associated with operational procedures, risks and outcomes allows a person/firm to provide the best fit-for-purpose technology solution. Protiviti brings a proven track record of collaborating with clients and expertise in the areas of operations, risk management and technology. WorkFusion/UiPath is a proven platform on which AI-native and innovative solutions are being built. Together, we can both bring outsized outcomes to our clients.”

Creating a Hybrid Financial Crime Workforce

The opportunity goes beyond outsourcing work or automating individual tasks. Partners bring specialized financial crime professionals, operational experience and domain expertise. WorkFusion AI Agents bring pre-built, proven operational capacity, automation, consistency and scale.  Together, they can create a new type of hybrid workforce.

AI Agents can take on defined financial crime work while experienced professionals provide judgment, oversight and expertise where they matter most. This can help institutions increase capacity and throughput, improve analyst productivity, strengthen risk management and scale operations without corresponding increases in headcount.

For managed-service providers, agentic AI can also change the economics of service delivery by enabling their teams to handle greater volumes while concentrating specialized human expertise on higher-value activities.

“Capgemini helped pioneer the hybrid workforce model for financial crime operations, recognizing early that AI and specialized professionals would need to work together. WorkFusion’s AI Agents bring intelligence, capacity, and scale to this model, while our experienced practitioners provide the judgment, oversight, and domain expertise essential in a regulated environment. Delivered through an integrated managed service, this combination enables institutions to strengthen risk management, increase operational resilience and scale more efficiently. The opportunity is not simply to automate existing processes, but to build a more adaptive and sustainable financial crime operating model,” said Manish Chopra, EVP Global Head of Risk, Financial Crime and Compliance, Capgemini.

One Foundation. An Ecosystem of Specialists.

The future of financial crime operations isn’t necessarily about choosing between technology and services—or between AI Agents and people. It’s about having the flexibility to combine them.

One technology foundation. An ecosystem of specialists. Multiple ways to consume it. And ultimately, more choice in how financial institutions build the financial crime operating model that works for them.
